Jessica graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Mathematics (Applied Discrete option) and a minor in Computer Science in 2008, then graduated again from Virginia Tech with an M.S. in Mathematics in 2009. She's been a faculty member in the VT math department ever since! Go Hokies! Her favorite courses to teach are combinatorics (MATH 3134) and the department's First Year Experience for first-year math majors (MATH 1004-1044).
She also enjoys running the department's summer orientation sessions for new students and leading the lower-division advising team. She's especially passionate about first-year students and helping them to adjust to all that is college. Fun facts: * She LOVES spending every minute that she can with her daughter who was born in 2019. * Her husband's name is Jesse... so they are Jess and Jesse. * She has a dog with the body of a corgi and the face of a lab. * She likes to hula hoop, cross-stitch, and upcycle furniture.
