Jessica graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Mathematics (Applied Discrete option) and a minor in Computer Science in 2008, then graduated again from Virginia Tech with an M.S. in Mathematics in 2009. She's been a faculty member in the VT math department ever since! Go Hokies! Her favorite courses to teach are Applied Combinatorics and Graph Theory (MATH 3134) and Discovering Mathematics I & II (MATH 1004-1044).

Jessica is especially passionate about her role as an academic advisor and is the department’s Undergraduate Advising Coordinator. She is also a member of the College of Science's Board of Advisors.

Fun facts:

  • Her husband's name is Jesse... so they are Jess and Jesse. 
  • She has a dog with the body of a corgi and the face of a lab. 
  • She likes to hula hoop, cross-stitch, and upcycle furniture, but right now her main hobby is chasing baby who is chasing a toddler who is chasing a dog.
