Dr. Russell Hewett has been awarded a Department of Energy (DOE) Early Career Research Program Award through the Advanced Scientific Computing Research program. His project is called "Domain-Decomposition Induced Parallelism for Scientific Deep Learning at Extreme Scale."

This prestigious award is in it's twelfth year and supports both University and National Laboratory Scientists during their crucial early years in research. The program will provide support for summer work and research expenses for 5 years. The awardees were selected from a large pool of applicants which were reviewed by outside scientific experts.

You can find out more about Dr Hewett's project in the DOE announcement of the awards for 2021 or by visiting his research website.
