Joseph Ball

Early work involved developing an understanding of Nevanlinna-Pick interpolation theory for matrix and operator-valued functions on the unit disk or right half plane with applications to the then evolving theory of robust control theory for engineering input/state/output linear systems (H-infinity control).  Current work involves further elaboration of these structures in multidimensional/multivariable/noncommutative settings with applications to new types of quantized function theory and operator theory.
