I am interested in research on mathematical problem-solving and the interplay between intuition and logic in mathematical reasoning, particularly in students at the undergraduate level. I have found problems of infinity and paradoxes in probability to offer particularly interesting results in the interviews that I have conducted in my past work.

I have also done work with a particular focus on adults on the autism spectrum, and the particular features of their approaches to mathematical problem-solving. My research has primarily focused on conducting and analyzing in-depth, one-on-one interviews about students' approaches to mathematical problems, both in my independent work and collaborations. I ground my work in the Vygotskian perspective on learning and development, as well as keeping in mind the importance of valuing student perspectives and avoiding a deficit-based view, particularly when working with students with disabilities.
