Student Work Opportunities

Each year the Mathematics Department hires several of its own students to tutor lower-level courses and to mentor students in the Math Emporium. Math majors are especially encouraged to apply but positions are not restricted to math majors. All positions require reliable helpers who can work well with a variety of students, and a recommendation from at least one math faculty member will be needed. Students' academic records and previous experience will also be considered. Training may be required and, if so, will be provided early in the semester. Pay is expected to be $7.50 per hour.

The coordinator of these undergraduate positions is Chuck Hodges, and you can read more about each of the four different types of employment on his Web page.
