Tutoring
Mathematics Tutoring
- If you are looking for individual assistance, a private
tutor might be what you need. A list of graduate and undergraduate
students who are interested in doing
private tutoring is here.
The cost for private tutors varies from tutor
to tutor. Most charge between $15 and $30 per hour. If you would like me
to send your request out to that entire list by email, asking interested tutors to
contact you directly, please email me (shugart@math.vt.edu) with your request and contact
information.
- The Virginia Tech Department of Mathematics has a tutoring lab
available
to students in most 1000 and 2000 level mathematics courses. The tutoring
lab is staffed by graduate and undergraduate students. The lab is open
from 5:00 - 9:00 PM Sundays through Thursdays in the
Math Emporium. There is no charge for tutoring
in the Mathematics Department Tutoring Lab.
- The
Center for Academic Enrichment and Excellence offers individual
tutoring by appointment for many subjects.
- The Student Assistance Center for the College of Engineering provides
free walk-in help with freshman and sophomore math, science, and engineering
courses. For more information, see
