Title: Fibonacci Fountain
Abstract
Helaman and Claire Ferguson will show
some video footage of the "Fibonacci Fountain"
with rainbow and slides with descriptions of
the 90 ton 90 foot tall theorem in wood, steel, concrete,
red granite, beige granite, plastic, water, air, electricity,
and light in a lake at the Maryland Science and Technology
Center in Bowie, Maryland. The mathematical
design, the pigeon-hole principle, statistics,
diamond cutting technology, and engineering
will be more than touched upon in this talk.
Helaman completed this massive sculpture in
time for the celebration of the 800th anniversary
of the publication of the ground breaking math book
of Leonardo of Pisa a.k.a. Fibonacci in 1202 A.D.
