The exam will be with closed books and notebooks.. You cannot use calculators, computers, or the assistance of other people.

The following topics may be covered (from chapters 3 of Kohler & Johnson):

• Solving and understanding second-order linear equations.
• General solution of  homogeneous equations
• Equations with constant coefficients (homogeneous and non homogeneous).
• Methods of undetermined coefficients and of variation of parameters
• Mathematical modeling.
• Mechanical vibrations.
