NET MAPS

Nearly Euclidean Thurston (NET) maps are orientation-preserving finite branched covering maps from the 2-sphere to itself which have i) local degree 2 at every critical point and ii) exactly four postcritical points. These are the simplest orientation-preserving finite branched covering maps from the 2-sphere to itself whose associated Teichmueller space is nontrivial, being conformally equivalent to the upper half complex plane. This web site is all about NET maps. It contains papers, software and over 50,000 examples.
